Ok…here we are in the 1st week of May and spring has sprung! Except for several really cool mornings, the weather has just been awesome! I hope you are taking advantage of Georgetown and
Williamson
County
's park systems. If you have not tried
Georgetown
's new trail; it is just beautiful. Last Sunday, Annette and I walked the hike and bike trail from the Georgetown Country Club area, west to almost
Lake
Georgetown
. Wow! It is so rugged and wildlife abounds everywhere. We are so blessed!
People continue to ask: How is our market? In general, short form, we are okay. What is happening in our national market is a definite downturn. If you want more detail, I have a great article on “Making Sense of the Current Real Estate Market” by John Tucillo; just call, write, or email me and I will forward.
What is happening in Central Texas, Austin, and
Georgetown
is a market slowdown. We just don't have as much traffic - Buyers of both residential and commercial properties. With less buyer traffic, we get more inventory that is available and generally, we are seeing some price points weakening. Not a lot yet, but it will happen some. Sellers need to understand this process and just expect to be more aggressive in their pricing and anticipate lower offers. Buyers do not live in a vacuum; they can read the papers and listen to the news too! This is just the natural process of the real estate market today. It appears the residential financial institutions have stabilized their situations - most have reorganized, merged, or just closed their doors. The same is happening with lesser productive real estate agents. They are just leaving the business - they should not have been here in the 1st place! However, the professionals…we are still here and serving our clients, working diligently to better ourselves in this profession of "selling real estate".
This time of the year we prune back the dead limbs so the new can grow, as the saying goes. I love John 15:1-17 when Christ spoke of pruning and the fruit of the vine, http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2015:1-17.
Until next time, enjoy the season, attend the church of your choice, and remember: God really does love you!
